Davis camp, Route 66, Oatman

In Bullhead City Arizona we decided to settle in Davis Camp a State park on the Colorado River, it was pretty and quiet, very warm and sunny weather just like in the movies and across th river from us is California.

We went for an afternoon drive on the legendary Route 66, for 40 miles leading us to Oatman. It was an unforgettable ride trough the tortuous road and spectacular scenery, a great natural wonder.

A little souvenir shop near the summit.

Oatman Arizona, a glimpse of what it was like to live in the 1800 in a mining town, well worth the trip.

While in Davis Camp we were fortunate to meet Claudia and Jim, a kind and generous couple from Colorado, Jim solve an electrical problem we had with our solar system, and the next day we joined them on their site for a BBQ dinner and a great social evening.

Hopefully we will get to spend more time with them  upon our return next winter.

So today were are on our way to Lake Mead for a few days and onto Las Vegas.

  1. This looks like a nice place for me to stop on my way North this year. Any boondocking around there ?

    1. I was told at the information office that anywhere of city limit, boon-docking was allowed.
